GAMA’s new Executive Director John Ward completed his initial orientation period with GAMA last week in Columbus, Ohio. His schedule included an overview of office practices with former ED Anthony Gallela, an introduction to GAMA’s staff, meetings with local businesses and service providers, and individual conversations with each member of the Board of Directors.
“I’ve found room for improvement, yes,” Ward commented, “but I’ve also found a committed staff and board of directors who really enjoy their service to the hobby games industry. That’s a refreshing place for me to be, as both a gamer and a professional.”
Ward is working part time for GAMA until January 26th, when his commitments to his previous job will be wrapped up, and he’ll turn his attention full time to the upcoming GAMA Trade Show. “There’s a lot of work ahead,” acknowledged Ward, “but I know our staff is up to it. I look forward to meeting our members, distributors, and retail partners at GTS, and making the show a success for all of us.”
