After seven years of growing, improving, and building GAMA, Executive Director Anthony Gallela announced that he will return to the private sector later this year.
“I have every intention of remaining involved in GAMA,” Gallela said. “I love GAMA and the work it does for gaming. I want to help GAMA and the game industry in most any way I can.”
The GAMA Board of Directors opened their search for Gallela’s replacement on Tuesday. The Board will accept resumes from now through October 15, 2008. For details about the application process, please see the ED job description and application instructions.
Gallela will continue as ED in a part-time capacity through October and November as the Board’s hiring committee goes through its search process. Looking ahead, Gallela will focus his efforts on a new board game company, Bucephalus Games (www.bucephalus.biz).
“GAMA has come a long way in the past seven years,” said Gallela. “I’m proud to have served the industry as GAMA’s ED, but I must credit our staff and volunteers for doing the work to us where we are. Our thanks should go to all of them.”
